The Penn-Mar Radio Club, Inc. is a group of FCC licensed amateur radio operators and others interested in amateur radio or computers/electronics from the south central Pennsylvania and north central Maryland areas. The Club is based in Hanover, Pennsylvania. The membership varies but at present the Club comprises of over 50 members. The Club owns and maintains the W3MUM 2-meter FM repeater, which is located in the Pigeon Hills near Hanover. The repeater is located at approximately 1,500 feet above sea level and provides excellent coverage. The Club meets in Hanover on the second Thursday of each month for the regular monthly meeting. Those interested in amateur radio, electronics, or computers are encouraged to consider joining the Club.
The classes of Club membership
Full Member: a holder of a current Amateur Radio Operator’s license issued by the Federal Communications Commission who expresses an interest in full involvement in the Club’s activities. The dues are $15.00 per year.
Associate Member: a person who has an interest in amateur radio or if a licensed Amateur Radio Operator who is primarily interested in using the Club’s repeater. The dues are $10.00 per year. (No voting privileges)
Family Members: a spouse or person 18 years of age or under residing at the same address as a full member and holding a valid Amateur License. The dues are $5.00 per year.
Life Member: an active full member may be acclaimed a life member by a majority of voting members present at an annual meeting of the Club, provided such member has been both a licensed Amateur Operator and a Club full member for at least the last 25 years. No dues are required.
Honorary Member: a person who has made a significant contribution to the benefit of the Club may be awarded an honorary membership. No dues are required and the Honorary membership expires at the end of the Club’s current fiscal year.
Club Dues
Dues are payable from the second Thursday in October through the end of December of the same year, for the next calendar year. Any member’s dues payment that is overdue will be considered to have resigned from the Club and will be automatically dropped from the roll of members without further notice. You do not need to reapply until you have been inactive for 3 years.
**A new member’s dues shall be prorated from the first day of the month in which the new member is accepted for membership, for the remainder of the calendar year.
